AlloDerm GBR - A Biological Barrier for Better Hard and Soft Tissue
Response

Enhanced soft tissue esthetics

AlloDerm GBR is produced by exactly the same process as regular AlloDerm, but it is thinner for easier handling. Unlike other periodontal membranes that either resorb too quickly or do not resorb at all, AlloDerm GBR actually remodels into the patient's own tissue. This results in improved bone regeneration and enhanced soft tissue quality and esthetics.

Easy handling

AlloDerm GBR is specially processed for guided bone regeneration procedures. The average thickness of 0.7mm provides a material that is easy to handle yet rigorous enough for demanding GBR applications.

 Improved tissue quality

AlloDerm was shown to be equivalent to autogenous connective tissue grafts for periodontal plastic surgery indications in four different university-based clinical studies. When used for hard tissue regeneration applications, AlloDerm GBR provides a matrix for the formation of new keratinized tissue.

May be left exposed

Unlike conventional barrier membranes, AlloDerm GBR may be left exposed with a significantly reduced chance of infection and loss of graft volume.

Protects and contains bone grafts

Due to its unique construction, AlloDerm GBR acts as a “biological barrier” to protect the underlying bone graft. AlloDerm GBR forms a biological seal at the flap margin within a few days of placement. A recent study demonstrated that sites covered with AlloDerm generated 16% more vital bone in extraction sockets than did sites covered with an ePTFE membrane.1
