Through supporting the United Way, BioHorizons and its employees contribute to a network of nearly 1,800 communities in 40 countries and territories. The United Way helps individuals and families through education, income stability and healthy lives.
In 2021, BioHorizons donated $750,000 to Scholarships for Kids, a nonprofit organization in Alabama that offers scholarships and access to better education for underserved children throughout the state. Reinforcing BioHorizons’ long-standing work to expand access to care for underserved communities, the donations will support three Alabama-based academic institutions that serve these individuals.
Each school provides educational opportunities for underserved students to help further refine and strengthen their skills, preparing them for future careers.
Dental implants have improved the quality of life of people around the globe. For some, this procedure is an unmeetable need because of financial and geographic limitations.
BioHorizons donated more than $10,000,000 in dental implant products to give people back their smiles through organizations like New Horizon Institute in Tempe, Arizona, the Foundry Dental Center in Bessemer, Alabama, and Local Start Clinic in Durham, North Carolina, in 2021.
BioHorizons employees live, work, play and serve our communities, too. Our team comes together inside and outside of the office to support many initiatives, including food drives, school supply donations, toy drives, caring for sheltered animals and participating in local events like the Birmingham Corporate Challenge. In addition to company-organized events, BioHorizons supports employees by providing paid time off to serve organizations of their choice.
BioHorizons is also a proud and long-standing supporter of the UAB School of Dentistry. In 2009, BioHorizons dedicated the BioHorizons Clinical Research Facility to provide a unique learning and research atmosphere with unparalleled equipment and materials.
Through Henry Schein Cares, the global corporate social responsibility program of Henry Schein Inc., the parent company of BioHorizons, and the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, BioHorizons philanthropic efforts go even further.
